    Following My Curiosity

My path has been shaped less by a single plan than by a habit of following questions. Early internships in communications with Maryville City Schools and Human Relations at DENSO Manufacturing gave those questions a practical setting. An interest in people, organizations, and how complex systems work led me first to neuroscience, then to computer science and software engineering. Each step gave me a different lens for understanding problems and turning that understanding into something useful.

    UW–Madison

    Neuroscience & The Pivot

I began with Neurobiology and Philosophy, exploring biological and logical systems. An interest in data and machine learning grew from there. Andrew Ng’s Machine Learning Specialization helped give me the confidence to pivot toward Computer Science and Data Science.

    ESSPI

    Building for the Edge

At ESSPI, I wrote firmware and built full-stack solutions for battery detection and monitoring thermal events. Connecting physical devices with cloud software and dashboards made the stakes tangible: translating signals from batteries into information people could act on. It was a hands-on education in shipping quickly and navigating hardware–software integration.

    Prudential Financial

    Enterprise Scale

Much of my work focuses on Salesforce development, improving user productivity and modernizing enterprise systems with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. Alongside AWS cloud architecture, this chapter is about learning to build resilient software at scale.

    Running with the Acquired Hosts

Ahead of Acquired’s Radio City Music Hall event featuring an interview with Jamie Dimon, I ran with Ben Gilbert, David Rosenthal, and the wider Acquired community in Central Park. Meeting the people behind a favorite podcast was a highlight, but so were the conversations along the way. New people, unexpected connections, and shared stories brought our shared interest in technology and business to life.

    Developer Advocacy & Community

Speaking at the SonarQube User Group in New York and becoming a Sonar Navigator introduced me to another side of engineering. I could share practical lessons, exchange ideas, and help developers build cleaner software. From developer talks to co-hosting OpenClaw events, I enjoy creating spaces where people can compare what they’re building and learn from one another.

    AI Dev ’25 NYC

At AI Dev ’25, I explored ideas shaping AI development and met Andrew Ng, whose teaching had helped me make the leap from neurobiology toward computing. A full-circle moment, surrounded by people building what comes next.

    February 2026 · Developer hackathon

    Speaking at Columbia University

At a Columbia University hackathon, I spoke about using SonarQube beyond the enterprise, including how code-quality tools can help developers working with AI-generated code. Moving quickly and taking care of the code are not competing goals. Reviewing, understanding, and improving what we generate is part of building something worth keeping.

    Judging at NJIT

Served as a judge at NJIT’s Spring 2026 Capstone Showcase, meeting student teams and hearing how they turned a semester of work into real projects. A chance to offer feedback and learn from the next generation of builders.

    What’s Next

I’m continuing to grow at the intersection of financial services, technology, and AI. Outside that work, I’m exploring AI-assisted development: both the excitement of quickly turning an idea into software and the discipline of reviewing, testing, and improving the code that follows. Along the way, I’m looking for opportunities to volunteer, share what I learn, and learn from the people around me. The next chapter is about becoming a better engineer and a more useful member of my community.
